Here’s something no one tells you:

The biggest threat to your cold email success is not the spam folder.
It’s the delete button.
Because even when you make it to the inbox, if your email does not instantly feel relevant it’s gone.
Let’s fix that.
Tip #1: Stop Pitching. Start Matching.
Bad cold emails are always me focused:
"Hey, I am John from X agency. We do SEO, web dev, PPC, etc."
That gets deleted.
Great cold emails match the reader’s reality:
"Saw you just launched a product on Shopify, congrats! Quick one: if you are driving traffic, are you doing anything yet to recover abandoned carts?"
Same offer. Different angle.
That angle is what makes it land.
Tip #2: Use Proof Over Promises
Nobody believes "we get amazing results."
But they do believe this:
"Helped another DTC brand cut CAC by 27% in 21 days using TikTok + CRO."
Make it concrete.
Make it specific.
Make it something they can picture.
Tip #3: Respect the Reader’s Time
Most cold emails are 7 sentences too long.
If they are opening it on mobile (and most do), you’ve got 3 seconds.
Keep it tight:
1 sentence of context
1 sentence of value or insight
1 sentence of CTA
"Not sure if this is a focus right now, but happy to share how we’re doing it for similar teams. Worth a quick look?"
Low pressure. High clarity.
Real Example That Works:
Subject: re: abandoned carts
Hey {{firstName}},
Noticed you just launched your new line. congrats!
Quick one: most brands lose 60%+ of carts. We recently helped [Brand] recover $28K/month using a simple 2 step flow.
Want me to send over how it works?
Short. Relevant. Easy to answer.
Final Takeaway:
Cold email is not dead. Bad email is.
Start with the reader. Make it feel personal, not robotic. Offer a simple next step.
That’s how you get replies that turn into deals.
